Abstract: 

ELECTROCHEMICAL CAPACITORS (ECS) HAVE ATTRACTED GREAT ATTENTION OF SCIENTIST FOR THEIR APPLICATION IN MOST TECHNOLOGY SUCH AS ELECTRIC VEHICLES (EVS), UNINTERRUPTIBLE POWER SUPPLIES (UPS), DC POWER SYSTEMS, AND MOBILE DEVICES. FILLING THE GAP BETWEEN CAPACITORS AND BATTERIES, HIGH POWER, HIGH ENERGY AND LONG LIFETIME ARE SOME OF BENEFITS OF USING ECS [1, 2]. ECS ARE DIVIDED TO TWO PARTS ABOUT CHARGE STORAGE MECHANISM; EDLC THAT STORE CHARGE IN ELECTRICAL DOUBLE LAYER AND PSEUDO CAPACITOR THAT ENERGY STORAGE IS DUE TO THE FARADIC PROCESS. FROM THE VIEW OF ACTIVE MATERIAL ECS ARE DIVIDED TO FOUR CATEGORIES; CARBON MATERIALS, METAL OXIDES, CONDUCTIVE POLYMERS (CPS) AND HYBRID MATERIALS. SOME OF MOST FAMOUS CP IS POLYANILINE, POLYPYROL, POLYTHIOPHENE AND THEIR DERIVATIVES. IN RECENT YEARS GRAPHENE HAVE BEEN GIVEN CONSIDERABLE ATTENTION DUE TO ITS MECHANICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES, FAST ELECTRON TRANSFER KINETICS AND EXCELLENT ELECTRO-CATALYTIC CHARACTERISTICS. MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTIES ARE SOME OF BENEFITS FOR INCORPORATION OF GRAPHENE IN THE POLYMER MATRIX.

Abstract: 

Micro-ELECTROACTIVE POLYMERs have wide applications from industry to healthcare. Artificial muscles, microvalves, microswitches, haptic sensing, blood pressure and pulse monitoring are some potential applications for micro-ELECTROACTIVE POLYMERs. The most advantage of micro-ELECTROACTIVE POLYMERs as sensors and actuators is bio-compatibility and low power threshold for large deformations. In this short review, some applicable fabrication methods of micro-ELECTROACTIVE POLYMER cantilever are reviewed. Furthermore, a novel method based on standard micro fabrication techniques is designed and discussed in details which presents a conceptual design of a micro-ELECTROACTIVE POLYMER cantilever on a POLYMERic anchor located on a silicon substrate for future works.

Abstract: 

Electrooxidation of β-naphthylamine (β-NA) in different aqueous acid media was investigated. The formation of a film adhered to the electrode surface was observed as a principal product and for which a POLYMER structure through C-N coupling is proposed. A standard three-electrode electrochemical cell was used for voltammetric experiments. In this system, glassy carbon rod, platinum wire, and KCl/saturated Ag/AgCl were used respectively as the working, counter and the reference electrodes. From the analysis of the voltammetric and spectroscopic experiments some aspects of the mechanism of electrooxidation of β-NA leading to the formation of the film was proposed. The effects of various physical and electrochemical parameters such as type of supporting electrolyte, temperature of the cell, pH, concentration of the monomer, scan rate and the number of scan cycles were studied. The electrochemical behavior of the film was reported as a function of these parameters. A quasireversible behaviour was observed from cyclic voltammograms obtained in different acid solutions. The film behaved as a thin-layer cell when it was obtained at low scan rates and dilute solutions of the monomer.

Abstract: 

THE AIM OF THIS STUDY IS TO FABRICATE, CHARACTERIZE AND EVALUATE THE PERFORMANCE OF A PT/AG DOUBLE LAYER IONIC POLYMER-METAL COMPOSITE BASED ON MULTI-WALLED CARBON NANO TUBES (MWCNT). THEREFORE, SINGLE AND DOUBLE LAYER METALLIC COATING ON A PERFLUORINATED POLYMER MEMBRANE WERE PREPARED BY ELECTROLESS PLATING. ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES, METAL DISTRIBUTION IN MEMBRANE AND CURRENT-TIME DIAGRAMS WERE OBTAINED. ALTHOUGH SINGLE-LAYER COATINGS BECAUSE OF THEIR ELECTRO OXIDATION AND HIGH ELECTRICAL RESISTANCE HAD NO REPRODUCIBLE CURRENT-TIME PEAKS AND NO BENDING MOVEMENT THE DOUBLE LAYER PT/AG ACTUATOR BASED ON MWCNT SHOWED A GOOD STABILITY AFTER VOLTAGE APPLICATION AND AN APPROPRIATE PERFORMANCE AND REPRODUCIBLE CURRENT-TIME PEAKS.

Abstract: 

Many attempts have been made in the last decade to improve the solubility and processability of polyaniline (PANI) and various procedures have been devised in this direction, such as coPOLYMERization, "precursor", "composite" and emulsion methods. It seems that the presence of an electron withdrawing group or an electron donating group decreases orbital overlap of the π-electrons and the nitrogen lone pair and leads to enhancement of solubility and processability of PANI. NPhenylglycine (PG) has a similar structure to aniline, but it has a carboxyl group at the site of nitrogen. POLYMERization of PG in presence of template results in a water-soluble, conducting POLYMER. A strong polyelectrolyte acid such as sulphonated polystyrene (SPS) is the most favourable template. Poly (N-phenylglycine) (PPG) was prepared by the chemical method using ammonium persulphate (APS) as an oxidant in the presence of SPS as a template. The product was characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and the ultraviolet-visible (UV-vis) spectroscopy. Cyclic voltammetry studies showed only one set of redox peaks and redox reversibility demonstrated the electroactivity of PPG as well. The electrical conductivity of POLYMER was measured by four-point probe method. The results showed that POLYMER yield and conductivity decrease as the ratio of template to monomer increases.

Abstract: 

DENDRIMERS (A CLASS OF POLY FUNCTIONAL GUEST MOLECULES) CONTAINING ELECTROACTIVE UNITS AS FUNCTIONAL GROUPS ARE VERY INTERESTING SPECIES [1]. THE INTEREST IN DENDRIMERS CONTAINING ELECTROACTIVE UNITS ALSO RELIES ON THE FACT THAT ELECTROCHEMISTRY IS A POWERFUL TECHNIQUE (I) TO ELUCIDATE THE STRUCTURE OF DENDRIMERS, AND TO EVALUATE THE DEGREE OF ELECTRONIC INTERACTION OF THEIR CHEMICALLY AND/OR TOPOLOGICALLY EQUIVALENT OR NOT EQUIVALENT MOIETIES. THE SECOND GENERATION (G [2] OF FERROCENYL (FC) -FUNCTIONALIZED CITRIC ACID DENDRIMER WAS SUCCESSFULLY SYNTHESIZED VIA THE REACTION OF CITRIC ACID DENDRIMER (G2) 2) WITH FERROCENE METHANOL USING N, N-DI CYCLO HEXYL CARBO DIIMIDE AS A COUPLING AGENT (SCHEME 1). THE OBTAINED FC-DENDRIMER WAS CHARACTERIZED BY 1H NMR AND FTIR SPECTROSCOPY. ALSO, THE ATTACHMENT OF THE FC MOIETIES ONTO THE CITRIC ACID DENDRIMERS WAS REVEALED BY THE CYCLIC VOLTAMMETRY (CV).THE ELECTROACTIVITY PROPERTY OF DENDRIMER WAS STUDIED USING CV. THE SYNTHESIS OF G2 AND THEIR FUNCTIONALIZED COMPOUND WITH FC WAS PERFORMED SUCCESSFULLY. THE RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE G2-FC DENDRIMER WAS ELECTROACTIVE AND THE CURRENT INCREASED WITH THE INCREASE OF GENERATIONS OF DENDRIMERS.

Abstract: 

Introduction: The initial spark of nanotechnology goes about half century. There is a lot of space in the low levels. Molecules and atoms are subject to change and new behaviors are expected of them. Nano POLYMERs and nano composites are a part of nano materials. They are especially important because many applications have. Conductive POLYMERs such as polyaniline have interesting properties, conductivity, optically and electro activity. Numerous applications of this nano POLYMERs and its composites can be visitor including electronics, sensors, protections of electrodes, absorption and transfer of heavy metals and removal of organic dye from solutions. Polyaniline protonated state has a good conductivity, but poor mechanical properties. The production of composite by polyaniline and polyamide POLYMERs such as insulation, and using the common solvent can be added to its mechanical properties.Aim: Synthesis of polyaniline and nano conductive POLYMER composite with the insulating POLYMER to increase mechanical properties, and study of electrical properties, thermal of Pan/Ny66.Materials and Methods: At this stage, polyaniline synthesis by oxidation with ammonium persoulfate. The electrical properties of Pan/Ny66 nano composite were analyzed by 4-point probe technique. UV-Vis Spectroscopy was used for thermal stability study. The tensile strength test was used to evaluate the mechanical and stability properties. Surface morphology changes were evaluated by scanning electron micrograph (SEM) before and after the production of composite.Results: Polyaniline procces due to poor mechanical properties and low strength of its disadvantages is considered. There is no study thermal stability and electrical conductivity under such conditions. Using formic acid as a common solvent for polyaniline and nylon66, Pan/Ny66 will provide by casting method.1 to 2 ratio of polyaniline to nylon66, is sealed. The thermal stability is high by composite production. Electrical conductivity increases in the Pan/Ny66 composite.Conclusion: Casting method is used for the preparation of nano composite films. Using this method, increased on mechanical properties, thermal stability and electrical conductivity.

Abstract: 

با توجه به اهمیت تولید پلی پروپیلن و کاربرد فراوان آن در صنایع پایین دستی، تولید این پلیمر قابل توجه می باشد. در این مقاله با استفاده از اطلاعات صنعتی پتروشیمی پلی نار تبریز، بخش راکتورتولید پلی پروپیلن با استفاده از نرم افزار ASPEN POLYMER شبیه سازی شده و نتایج بدست آمده با اطلاعات موجود مقایسه شده است. نتایج بدست آمده خطای قابل اغماضی را نسبت به اطلاعات موجود نشان می دهد.

Abstract: 

IONIC STRUCTURE AND CONDUCTIVITY, TUNABLE HYDROPHOBICITY AND VERY LOW VOLATILITY ARE THE PROPERTIES OF ROOM TEMPERATURE IONIC LIQUIDS (RTIL) THAT MAKE THEM ATTRACTIVE FOR ELECTROCHEMICAL APPLICATIONS. 1 BUT THE SLOW MASS TRANSFER IS KNOWN AS THEIR DISADVANTAGE. IN THIS RESPECT, IMMOBILIZATION OF RTIL ON THE ELECTRODE SURFACE REPRESENTS A SUITABLE ALTERNATIVE APPROACH. HEREIN, A MODIFIED ELECTRODE WITH ORDERED MESOPOROUS SILICA THIN FILM HAS BEEN CONSTRUCTED FOR IMMOBILIZATION OF IONIC LIQUIDS. THE DESIRED SILICA NANOSTRUCTURE WAS DEPOSITED ON THE ELECTRODE USING AN ELECTROCHEMICAL ETHOD KNOWN AS ELECTROCHEMICALLY ASSISTED SELF-ASSEMBLY. 2 TEM ANALYSIS SHOWED THAT THE DESIRED SILICA FILM HAS UNIFORM THICKNESS WITH ALIGNED AND ACCESSIBLE MESOCHANNELS TO THE ELECTRODE SURFACE. THE POSSIBILITY OF THE IMMOBILIZATION OF 1-HEXYL-3-METHYLIMIDAZOLIUM IODIDE AND 1-HEXYL-3-METHYLIMIDAZOLIUM TRIIODIDE AS TWO IONIC LIQUIDS BEARING ELECTROACTIVE ANIONS HAVE BEEN STUDIED BY VOLTAMMETRIC ANALYSIS. THE RESULTS CLEARLY DEMONSTRATE THE ADSORPTION OF POSITIVELY CHARGED IMIDAZOLIUM IONS INSIDE THE NEGATIVELY CHARGED SILICA MESOCHANNELS. THIS FAVORABLE ELECTROSTATIC INTERACTION SIMPLY LEADS TO THE ADSORPTION OF IODIDE OR TRIIODIDE AND THEN IMMOBILIZATION OF THE DESIRED ELECTROACTIVE IONIC LIQUIDS. EFFECT OF THE SUPPORTING ELECTROLYTE AND THE ANIONS OF IONIC LIQUIDS WERE EXAMINED ON DURABILITY AND LEACHING STABILITY OF THE ELECTRODES. THE TRIIODIE BASED IONIC LIQUID HAS EXTRAORDINARY STABILITY IN THE PRESENCE OF VARIOUS TYPES AND CONCENTRATIONS OF SUPPORTING ELECTROLYTES AND AFTER 5 HOURS THE ELECTRODE SHOWED MORE THAN 30% OF THE INITIAL CURRENTS.
